Tim
Tindle, Promod driver for the Tindle Racing team, is a drag racing
fanatic who began his love for drag racing only 10 years ago.
Tindle began his quest for a drag racing championship rather late,
compared to his competitors, but has excelled in every class he
has competed in; Promod, Quick Rod, Super Comp, Bracket Racing,
and Top Sportsman.
On December 12, 2005, Tindle announced the formation
of the Tindle Racing Promod Team, after purchasing a Promod Championship
operation. His goal is to build on that successful platform to
field a championship Promodified team.
In 2007, he became the lead driver for the team
and took seat of the reigning AMS Promod Champion’s 1967
Shelby Mustang. His impressive opening season performance was
acknowledged at the season finale when he finished sixth in points
and was chosen as the 2007 AMS Promod Challenge Rookie of the
Year.
Tindle earned the 2007 Rookie of the Year by
winning his first career National Event that year after defeating
Jay Payne in the Pro Mod final round of the ProCare RX Super Nationals
at Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ. He then extended his second
career National Event victory by winning the ProCare RX Pro Mod
Clash in Las Vegas.
Tindle brings years of success as a site contractor and has a
long history of success in the sport. This past 2009 season, he
won the IHRA Spring Nationals at Rockingham Dragway during his
IHRA debut. His second 2009 career victory came when he won the
NHRA Summer Nationals at Topeka.
During his off time from Pro Mod Racing, family
oriented Tindle and his wife Sonya spend time racing with their
daughter Heather Tindle, who competes in Super Comp and Quick
Rod, and their son T.J. Tindle who was the youngest driver to
win an Outlaw 330 Championship in 2008.
Tindle has a heavy heart. In 2008, he and the Tindle Racing dedicated
a weekend of racing for the benefit of the Leukemia Foundation;
the care and cure of patients and families living with leukemia,
lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders. The team sported
special Leukemia Foundation uniforms and donated any profits to
the foundation.
In 2010, Tindle will compete in the Pro Care RX Promod Challenge
and will continue his quest for a National Championship. More
