HUNTSVILLE, AL -- Get Screened America (GSA) Promod Racer Tim Tindle lost a first round race to Charles Carpenter at the Promodifieds.us Nationals at Huntsville Dragway.
The Santa Rosa Beach, FL racer qualified in the No.3 position with a 4.004, 183.75 mph and lost to Carpenter after his ’67 GT Mustang went into tire shake. Tindle had the better reaction but his pedaling 4.09, 177.58 mph was not enough for Carpenters 3.99.
"That was a tough one to accept after waiting for so long to race," said Tindle. "We gave it everything we had, but we just didn't get the desired result. But, overall it was a fun weekend. It was a relaxing weekend with the family and team."
“The Russell’s, Promodifieds.us, and Huntsville Dragway did an awesome job putting this race together. We definitely plan to return for next year’s event.”
Tindle also entered the bracket class in his Mullis dragster, along with his daughter, Heather, and son, T.J., who competed in the jr.dragster class. Tindle, who has a Bracket Racing background, was ecstatic to return to the driver’s seat after sitting out for two years to focus on Promod racing. His dragster lost fire during the third round of competition, forcing him to forfeit the round.
“The Mullis dragster was set on kill, running 5.00 four passes back to back. It was disappointing to loose the round on account of the car not firing. I definitely plan to bracket race a little more during the Promod offseason."
Next up for Tindle is this weekend's MAC Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals for the Get Screened America Promod Challenge, presented by ProCare RX.
