BRISTOL, TN – Tindle Enterprises’ Promod pilot Tim Tindle is primed and ready to qualify well and win rounds in this weekend’s NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tenn. This is the 4th stop on the 10-race 2009 Get Screened America Promod Challenge schedule.
Those goals are always part of the mindset of a man in his 3rd year driving in the Promod class – known as “the wild door slammers of the sport.” And consistency is what Tindle and crew chief Quain Stott are seeking in order to achieve as the NHRA Promod series reaches the midway point of the season.
“We’re just looking for consistency right now,” said Tindle, who has never won in Bristol, but has one national-event win to his credit this season. “We have been fairly close nearly every race, but haven’t closed the deal. We hated losing in the first round in St.Louis. That was a rough one.”
“We just need to qualify in the right position so we can go out and get the job done. That takes going down the track two times on Friday and twice on Saturday. We are going to focus on qualifying and then worry about racing on Sunday when the time comes,” added Tindle.
Qualifying is scheduled to begin with two rounds on Friday (4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.) and continues Saturday with a third and final qualifying attempt (2:15 p.m.). The first round of eliminations is scheduled for Saturday evening at 4:30 p.m., with the remaining three rounds of eliminations set for Sunday.
