T.J. Tindle crowned FB Trailer Series Outlaw 330 Champion; Youngest Champ Dec 03, 2008
CECIL, GA – The youngest FB Trailer Series Outlaw 330 champion was crowned this past weekend at the 11th Annual Peach State Jr. Dragster Nationals at South Georgia Motorsports Park.  T.J. Tindle behind the wheel of his Jim Spier tuned Half-scale dragster captured his first world championship after completing the first round of eliminations.

Tindle, son of NHRA Promod Rookie of the Year, Tim Tindle, went into the event leading points over Alex Brandon and sealed the deal when mother nature forced officials to call off the event.

”Man, it feels dang good,” said Tindle.  “Our entire team did good all year long.  It was kind of disappointing not completing the entire event. It would have been nice to win the race to win the championship, but we definitely earned it by leading points going into that race.”

”We are already getting prepared for next year. I want to thank mom, dad, Jim, Will, Whaley, and everyone that made this happen.”

TJ Tindle has a lot on the line in Valdosta Nov 27, 2008
Valdosta, Ga. – The 2008 FB Trailer Series Outlaw 330 season will come to a close this weekend with the 11th Annual Peach State Jr. Dragster Nationals at South Georgia Motorsports Park.  Although much of the attention will be focused on the championship, there is plenty of motivation for racers in all classes to do well.

TJ Tindle and the Tindle Racing Team are currently involved in a championship battle with Alex Brandon.  Tindle defeated Brandon finals of the last event held at Northwest Tennesse Park and currently leads the field heading into this weekend’s event. Tindle had the better reaction and ran a 4.21 to win the event.  To secure the championship, Tindle needs to complete two more rounds than Brandon.

”The plan this weekend is to just focus,” said Tindle. There is a lot of pressure knowing that we need to go rounds but we will be ready.”

“The win in Tennesse felt good and made for a better ride home. It was a long drive but well worth it. Jim and Will Speir are have done a great job tuning this hotrod.”

Tindle exits early at 1st Annual Heads Up Outlaw Nationals Nov 12, 2008

Tindle and his Tindle Racing promod team were beaten in the first round of eliminations at the 1st Annual Heads Up Outlaw Nationals at Emerald Coast Dragway.

Tindle qualified in the top half of the field with a 4.22 but lost traction around mid-track during first round, forcing him to abort the run.  It was a tough round loss, but the team has high expectations as they prepare for the 2009 JEGS Promod Challenge season.

“We were hoping to give the hometown fans a good showing, but we just couldn’t get this hotrod completely down the track,” Tindle said. “We ran the quickest ever 60ft time, but would shake around half track.  In the end, we will get it figured out.”

Tindle ready for “run-whatcha-brung” weekend at home track Nov 07, 2008

JEGS Promod Challenge racer Tim Tindle is more than excited to compete in this weekend’s Heads Up Outlaw Nationals at his home track, Emerald Coast Dragway (EC).  Tindle qualified No.1 at the last EC Outlaw event and advanced to the semi-finals, just before rain forced officials to cancel the event.

Tindle will be competing in NHRA legal trim, although the only rule is “run-whatcha-brung” and “hope you brought enough,” his favorite. This event will complete the 2008 Tindle Racing season.

”It always feels good to race back at home with the outlaw boys,” Tindle said. “We feel that we have a much more consistent and faster car than we did earlier this year so the fans should be in for a treat.”

Tindle Clinches Top 10 Finish at Season Finale Nov 04, 2008

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 2) – The 2008 JEGS Promod Challenge ended on a high note for Tim Tindle of Santa Rosa Beach, FL when he clinched a ninth place ranking in the prestigious Top 10 points standings. It’s Tindle’s second straight Top 10 finish of Pro Mod competition.

Heading into Sunday’s final eliminations of the eighth annual ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Tindle knew he had his work cut out for him.  Even though his race car had been fairly fast and consistent over the past few races, with the series coming to an end, he knew a strong performance would be required to hold a strong standing in the points.

Unfortunately, Tindle lost to Taylor Lastor in the first round of eliminations after his Ford GT 500E Mustang lost traction after the starting line.  Despite the first round lost, Tindle managed to finish ninth in the series points and was awarded at the JEGS Promod Challenge Awards Banquet.

“It was a tuff round loss, but this is only the beginning,” Tindle said.  “After a rough and rocky start this season, we were fortunate to finish in the top 10.  This team has worked hard to get this program turned around and it has.”

”We are putting this season in the books and have already started preparing for next year.  The competition will be even tougher but we are working on some things to make us an even more competitive team on the track.”

“We are looking forward to next year but we are definitely going to miss Steve Engel.  Steve was great both on the track and off.  I think it is great that JEGS created the Steve Engel “Big Heart Award” because Steve was a friend to everyone. He will be missed.”

Tindle will finish the season off at Emerald Coast Dragway’s Heads Up Outlaw Nationals this weekend in Holt, FL.

Tindle earns No.11 Position during last attempt in Las Vegas Nov 02, 2008

JEGS Promod Challenge driver Tim Tindle used his final attempt to qualify 11th for Sunday's eliminations at the 8th annual NHRA Las Vegas Nationals at "The Strip," recording an elapsed time of 6.11, 233.52 mph.

In the opening run on Friday, Tindle eased out of the groove and recorded an 8.749, 109.90 mph, good for only No.18 at the time.  In his second stab, the car shook the tires off the starting line, producing a 7.134, 197.33 mph (No. 20).  Still out of the show, the Tindle Racing team rose to the occasion in his final attempt under unstable weather conditions.

"We are here to race and it is extremely important to make the field," said Tindle, who is No. 9 in the series points.  "It is a big deal for us.  Like I've always said, you've got to be in to win and we are.  I am really proud of these guys.  We were all against the wall going into the last attempt and they got the job done."

"Unfortunately my son TJ couldn't make the race this weekend due to an Outlaw 330 event he had in Tennessee.  Just before our final qualifying attempt, we received notice that he won the event. He then called back just before we rolled out and wished us the best of luck during qualifying and the race. So, to hear that he won the event and then, right after, put this Ford GT 500E Mustang in the field just makes for an awesome day."

Tindle faces No.6 qualifier Taylor Lastor in the first round of eliminations on Sunday.

Rock n’ Roll Tindle looking to repeat $25,000 Vegas weekend Oct 28, 2008

JEGS Promod Challenge racer Tim Tindle remembers Las Vegas very well. In 2007 he won $25,000 in cash after defeating Jay Payne in the final round of the Pro Care RX Promod Clash, during the Las Vegas Nationals. This marked Tindle’s first career appearance at “The Strip” and his second event win in the promod series.

As the series enters the final event this weekend at the ACDelco NHRA Las Vegas Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Tindle stands in the No.9 position; He has a very consistent race car under him heading into the event.

The Santa Rosa Beach, FL racer comes to Vegas fresh off another solid performance, qualifying in the top half of the field and reaching the quarterfinals at the Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park.

”I can’t say enough about Quain Stott and this team,” Tindle said.  “We quickly went to having one of the most consistent race cars on the property and it just feels dang good. Last weekend was a testimony of this team’s effort and determination and we are hoping to repeat that performance.”

”The competition is going to be tuff with everyone looking to improve their position during the last event, but I know that we have the car and team to get the job done.”

Entering the final qualifying session in the series’ fastest field ever, Tindle Enterprises’ racer Tim Tindle quickly assured his participation in the event, posting the quickest time and fastest pass of his stellar career.  After opening with a 6.073, 238.22, then a 5.969, 238.34 mph run in the second session, he picked up the pace even further on the final attempt, covering the quarter-mile in 5.941, 238.55, which was the fifth quickest in the class.  This marks the 2nd time in this season’s 10 races that the 2007 Rookie of the Year racer has earned a Top Five starting spot.

“After the first qualifying session, I knew this past weekend’s event would be the quickest NHRA promod field ever,” Tindle said.  “Everyone stepped up their game and we did too.  We have a bad hotrod.  Quain and the guys have been working their butts off and it shows.  We made our first ever five-second pass during the second qualifying session and we dipped well into the fives.”

“She went 3.80s in the 8th mile and that is just impressive.  We are finally on the right track and it feels good.”

Tindle defeated Kirk Kuhns in the first round of eliminations and then turned it red by -.031 second round.  The team is steadily improving in performance and is hoping to capture the first win of the season at final JEGS Promod Challenge event - the ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals, October 30 – November 2.

Heavy Hearted Tindle Seeks Strong Performance in Virginia Oct 10, 2008

2007 Promod Rookie of the year Tim Tindle is looking to score his first victory of the 2008 Jegs Promod Challenge Series this weekend at the third annual NHRA Virginia Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park in Richmond.

He is still chasing that elusive victory in a season that has turned around from hard luck and close calls.  Despite these setbacks, the Tindle Racing Team remains determined to reach the winner’s circle before the season ends.

Tindle heads into the event with a heavy heart, after loosing his mother Judy Tindle on this past Saturday.  The team will be racing in memory of her life this weekend; rest in peace Judy.

“It is definitely not easy racing this weekend, but we have to just hold our head up and deliver the best,” Tindle said.  The end of the season is approaching fast and we don’t have much time to claim our first victory of the year.  Stott has definitely turned this team around and we have one of the most consistent cars to get the job done.

Rest in Peace Judy Tindle: Sleep Mom Oct 05, 2008
Please pray for Tim Tindle and the entire Tindle Familiy...

Tim Tindle lost his mother, Judy Tindle, around lunch time today and the entire family is in need of prayer through this tough time.

The death of a mother is the hardest to bear for she is the one who is there for us the most. In her life she has shown her daughter/son a path to follow and now she is resting in the God's embrace. Her daughter/son looks forward to the day they will be reunited.

Sleep Mom

Sweet smile on your face as you sleep the pain away,
Resting in God's arms now, although in the ground your body lay.
He needed another angel in the Heavenly choir and that's why you had to go.

As you promised, you are still with us watching your children here below.

I never would have imagined the end would be like this, me comforting you.
Holding your hand, telling you not to worry was not an easy thing for me to do.
And even in your weakest hour you tried to comfort me too,
Caressing my face, and calming my soul as only a mother can soothe.

You have always been there through the thick and the thin
No matter what I've done, unconditionally you love never wavering.
When I told you of the mistakes I made and all the times people saw me fall
You simply nodded and gently replied 'so have we all'.
The key to success is learning from the past
Ensuring a brighter future is now the present task.

A pillar of strength even until the end
Fighting all life's battles, knowing it's triumphantly you would win
Pushing me to be the best that you know I can be
Reminding me to keep the faith and allow God to lead me.
Knowing it's through Christ that I can do all things
And as He never makes a mistake I will come through victoriously.

I miss you more than these words could ever say
The pain in my heart is from one unimaginable day
After I cried all that I could; my eyes still shed countless more tears
And when I try to sleep, I have nightmares of ten-thousand fears
I walk in footsteps on an unsure path
My load feels so heavy I am not sure I will last.

Silly though I may be I am afraid of life now that you're gone
Because I've always had a mother.
And Mommy, what about my sister and baby brother.
I wish you could have stayed just a little while longer, there's so much left to do
I wonder if I prayed hard enough and if so, did they get through.

Finding relief in knowing I will see you again someday soon
Remembering all you taught me as

That procedure was done Friday and physicians were diagnosing a long but full recovery.

"The entire Pro Mod community is in a state of shock right now," fellow racer and JEGS ProMod Challenge organizer Troy Coughlin said. "We were all so optimistic after Friday's report and then we get this terrible news. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tonya and the boys.

Engel remains in Indy hospital following high-speed accident Sep 05, 2008

by JEGSPROMOD.COM

INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 4) -- Pro Mod racer Steve Engel remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of Methodist Hospital after suffering a high-speed accident Saturday evening at the 54th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.

Engel's Corvette went out of control near the top end of the quarter-mile and impacted the retaining wall so severely that all racing action was halted for the evening as safety crews worked to repair the damage. Engel, meanwhile, was airlifted to Methodist Hospital by medical helicopter.

According to his wife Tonya, Engel suffered damage to six vertebrae in his spine. As a precaution and to keep him from moving and further complicating his injuries, he's been medically sedated since doctors first examined him.

An initial surgery was preformed to repair two of the vertebrae. As doctors waited for swelling in the area to subside, Engel developed fluid in one of his lungs, which has delayed further repairs.

Erroneous reports of Engel being completely paralyzed are unfounded, according to Tonya. It is simply far too early in the process to make such determinations. His team of doctors remains hopeful that once all the repairs are made he'll be able to make large strides towards a full recovery. The best news is that Engel's spinal canal was not compromised.

"Everyone is very concerned about Steve's condition," said JEGS Director of Media Scott Woodruff. "We're all praying for a complete recovery, and we're keeping Tonya and the rest of Steve's family and team in our thoughts.

"It's shocking to all of us when something like this happens. Although everyone knows the inherit risks involved with our sport, it's still hard to take when something does happen. That was a bad wreck; one of the worse many of us had ever seen. The fact he's alive is a miracle in itself. Thank goodness for all the safety things we have in place.

"We call on everyone to keep Steve and Tonya in their prayers."

Engel won his first race on the JEGS ProMod Challenge earlier this year in Bristol, Tenn. The 49-year-old from Shandon, Ohio, owns and operates Diamond Heavy Haul, a trucking and trailer manufacturing business. He has two sons, Steve Jr. and Mikey.

Tindle Races to Semifinals at Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, AL – Tim Tindle drove his Tindle Enterprises’ GT 500E Promod Mustang to his second semifinal finish of the 2008 season Sunday at Montgomery Motorsports Park.  With the help of Quain Stott, the 2007 NHRA Promod Rookie of the Year continues to improve as he prepares for the prestigious Matco Tools U.S. Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park.

Tindle Right on Track for Southern Outlaw Promod Tour Aug 13, 2008

MONTGOMERY, Al – Tim Tindle has seen performance strides recently and notes that team morale is riding high going into this weekend’s Southern Outlaw Promod Tour, June 15-17, Montgomery Motorsports Park. The team qualified No.1 at Emerald Coast Dragway’s Celebrate America Shootout in June and is focusing on going far in eliminations this weekend.

“We feel like we have a good handle on our race car and it’s been running very consistently,” said Tindle, who was selected as the 2007 NHRA Promod Rookie of the Year.  “We had the lowest elapsed time of the Day in Holt and advanced to the semi-finals just before Mother Nature cancelled the event.  I feel like we are just a round or two from finally breaking through for our first win of the season, and it could be Montgomery.”

”Montgomery Motorsports Park is a new venue for our team, but crew chief Andy Denny and Quain Stott have proven that this hotrod can go down any track. But, you know, the very first lap down any new track is always exciting for me. I know that the Outlaw Guys are going to be tuff, but I think we have the equipment to be competitive.”

This weekend’s event will mark the first Promod lap for Tindle in the state of Alabama.  The Santa Rosa Beach, FL racer is more than excited to compete with some of Outlaw’s best.

The Tindle Racing Team will be testing in Valdosta, GA during the days leading up to the Southern Outlaw Promod Tour.

ST. LOUIS,MO --  Tim Tindle raced his Tindle Enterprises GT500E promod Mustang to a first round finish Saturday at the O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals.

Tindle qualified his Janis-tuned promod twelfth with a time of 6.211 seconds on Saturday.  He was matched-up against Kirk Kuhns during the first round of eliminations.  Tindle, the 2007 Promod Rookie of the year, used a huge starting line advantage to race the Tindle Enterprises Mustang to the early lead.  Kuhns sped to a 6.043, 232.83 to earn the trip to the quarterfinals.  Tindle is now 0-1 in his career against Kuhns.

”This is a huge letdown for our team, fans and sponsors,” Tindle said.  “We’re just in a slump.  We haven’t performed well and we’ve got to get back on track.  We need to test more and make some laps in this car. We are not in the best position in points, but we’re confident that we’ll be in the winner’s circle soon.”

Stivers enjoying life on JEGS ProMod Challenge series Mar 26, 2008

JegsPromod.com

HOUSTON (March 22) -- Rick Stivers has been racing in one form or another since he was a child. If you ask him, he'll laugh and say, "I got 18 stitches in my eye when I was 6 years old because I fell off my bike doing a burnout in the gravel, so I guess racing is in my blood."

For the past 20 years, the 50-year-old resident of Lexington, Ky., has been mesmerized by the thrills of drag racing, working his way through a variety of classes and owning several cars. He's finally settled on a 2,500-horse power Pro Modified door-slammer that runs the quarter-mile in six seconds at more than 240 mph. He's never had more fun.

Tindle Ready to Rock Houston Raceway Park Mar 26, 2008

HOUSTON, TX – After a successful test session in Gainesville, FL, after a surprising DNQ at the Gatornationals, the 2007 NHRA Promod Rookie of the year Tim Tindle says he’s more than ready to race in this weekend’s O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals, Houston, Texas.

According to Tindle, the test was a success and he and the Tindle Racing Team expect strong results this weekend, in the second round of the 10-event 2008 JEGS Promod Series.

“It was a great test and I have a good feeling going into Texas,” said Tindle.  “We were off just a hair with the tune-up in Gainesville, but after testing, Janis and the guys have it figured out. During the off-season, we changed several different things, from the engine to a complete suspension change and wasn’t able to test any. We were only one round short of figuring it out at Gainesville.”

"You know, it’s early in the season and one good race could put you back in the heat of the points chase. This is going to be an interesting season and we have the team to make it happen.”

DNQ for Tim Tindle in Gainesville, Plans to Test Monday Mar 15, 2008

2007 AMS Promod Challenge Rookie of the Year Tim Tindle failed to qualify in the JEGS Promod Challenge at the ACDelco Gatornationals, Gainesville, FL, after he was forced to abort each run during his attempts.

Rain on Friday forced NHRA officials to cancel all qualifying sessions, leaving teams with only two attempts on Saturday to make the field.  After those two sessions were complete, Tim Tindle and the Tindle Enterprises’ team sat outside in the No. 19 position.

“We really needed the qualifying session on Friday, which really hurt us,” said Tindle.  “It puts the pressure on everyone when you only have two attempts.”

”We made several changes during the off-season and didn’t get to test as much as we needed to, and it shows.  But, we will get better. We just need more passes and information. Mike Janis,  son Janis Jr., and the entire team have been working around the clock to make it happen and it will.  The team and I are planning to stay here in Gainesville and test on Monday. “

Fortunately Tindle’s teammate, Rick Stivers, made the field and will be competing in tomorrow’s eliminations.

Stivers Qualifies No. 13 on Final Attempt in Gainesville Mar 15, 2008

Gainesville, Fl – Rick Stivers used his final run on Saturday to qualify the Tindle Racing GT 500E Promod Mustang in the No. 13 in the JEGS Promod Challenge at Gainesville Raceway.

Stivers had just two chances to qualify for eliminatons after rain washed out Friday’s qualifying rounds.  After a tire-shake opening run for 9.064 seconds at 100 mph, which placed him on the DQ list, the Kentucky native was down to a single run to qualify for the 16-car field.  Crew chiefs Mike Janis and Mike Janis Jr provided a tune up that put Stivers in the field.

”It wasn’t the prettiest pass, but we are in the show,” said Stivers.  We had  a problem about half track and I knew something was wrong when I saw Scott Ray drive by me as if I was standing still. She was on  a real good pass.”

Stivers will face Kirk Kuhns tomorrow for the first round of eliminations.
